Skin-conscious performance wear is here

Recent research is bringing increased attention to the impact of synthetic performance fabrics on skin health.

“Most sportswear is synthetic, finished with chemicals designed to wick moisture and odour, repel water and prevent staining. Many also incorporate heavy metals, antimicrobials, chlorine bleach and formaldehyde in the production process, which can disrupt the skin’s microbiome.”

At The KOOZY, we have been working since 2021 to develop skin-conscious performance wear using natural and certified fabrics, designed to support the body rather than work against it.

We are also delighted to see our collaborator, designer and textile scientist Rosie Broadhead, featured in the article highlighting the growing importance of healthier textile innovation.

The industry conversation around skin health and performance fabrics is only just beginning - and we are excited to be part of shaping its future.
